Title is inspired from Rush songs, 'The Analog Kid' and 'Digital Man'. An analog signal is a signal that is written as it is recorded, without having anything encrypted. A digital signal is an encrypted signal that needs to be decoded, a digital signal only gives a positive or a negative signal, 0s or 1s. The Analog Kid is about a kid who is overwhelmed with straight-forward emotion. Digital Man is about a heartless, calculating man - putting logic before emotion.

Planned project for 2011
Planned project for next year

To do list :

Kit that will be used: Tamiya's 1/12 scale Rover Mini
To do list :
- Rim swap. Have to source for Mini's steel rim with hubcap in 1/12 scale. Worst case scenario I have to modify the kit's rim.
- Lose the fender lips and sportlight. The kit is Rover's Mini so the the badge need to be changed too.
- Scratchbuild Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) figure.
- Scratchbuild the sofa, mop, teddy and stuff inside the Mini. Some rigging work need to be addressed.

Persistence or downright annoying?
The thing I don't like about shopping in hypermarket is the Credit Card Promoter thats hanging around by the cashier and approached you once you've made your payment.
I hold one credit card (supplementary btw!) and have no intention of adding another. One is enough for me. The 'offered package' is quite interesting too. 1 night stay at luxury hotel, fuel rebates, discounts at selected merchants, heck, some even have 'trial period' which you can 'cancel' if you're not satisfied with the package. <- better read the fine lines here!
Some of these promoter went to the extent of begging you to sign up for their credit card. Being a 'gentleman' I usually try to politely decline but in some cases, I found myself on the verge of shouting at them. NO MEANS NO!

Yamaha Warehouse Sale 24-25 July 2010
Saturday,
Went to Yamaha Music Warehouse Sale @ Kelana Jaya. Primary objective was to get a double paddle set for my drum kit. Only a couple of box left... with 40% discount. Unfortunately it was out of my budget. I was expecting around RM7XX; so with heavy heart I have to pass the double paddle kit. Maybe next time. I did, however, left the warehouse sale with a couple of cymbals.
Sabian B8 20 inch Ride
Sabian AAX Chinese Cymbal
But there is, however, there's one cymbal that caught my attention. I wanted to get it but again, budget constrain gets in the way. This is actually the ride cymbal that I wanted.

Oh well, better save up for next warehouse sale. I'm thinking of getting the Yamaha Hex drum rack system.

Models: Judge Dredd (Movie version)
After sitting in storage for three years, I've decided to proceed with completing this kit. It was given to me by a friend, an experienced modeller, who have lost his interest to work on this kit. The kit is missing one part, the second half of the right hand (read: have to scratchbuild!). As of last night, the kit is still at the most tedious stage: puttying and sanding.

Things to do:
Scratchbuild Dredd's badge to use as backdrop.
Create a worn out look on the base by adding some scraps, rust, stain, scratches, dents and dings, etc.
Lighting effect from under the base - lights will be peeking through the grill holes. Which means, I have to drill out each and every one of the grill holes.
I have given myself a 3 week deadline to complete this build (24th July).
