Salam Eid'ul 'Adha

We went to my dad's hometown, Kota Bharu during Eid'Ul Adha recently. No 'Qurban' from our family... just an 'Aqiqah' for baby Musa. My younger brother also took part in 'Aqiqah' for his daughter.

The ritual took place at Gunong, a district somewhere between Bachok and Pasir Puteh, Kelantan. The local's dialect are hard to understand, even for me who understand Kelantanese dialect :).

Tergerak aku nak cerita pasal show ni sbb mmg, seriously, aku tgk show ni mmg utk suka2 je. Aku lebih suka tgk The Universe.'Dokumentari' ni memaparkan kisah2 sejarah from Alien/UFO perspective. Fine. Tapi pada yg tgk tu, aku nasihatkan, jaga2 sikit... sbb possibilty utk tergelincir akidah tu, ada kalau tgk 'dokumentari' ni.

Last night, episod pasal Underwater World... pasal ruins yg ditemui bawah laut dan tasik. Contoh mcm , 'Bimini Road', Atlantis (purely speculation), Dwarka, etc. Mcm Atlantis, misalannya, dikatakan bahawa 'Atlantis' itself is a huge spaceship. They come to this 'conclusion' sbb Plato states that Atlantis disappeared overnight thru thick fire and smoke - which suggest that the 'Atlantis' spacecraft takes off. Ketiadaan peninggalan kota Atlantis 'supports' this theory.

Part tu boleh tahan lagi...Few episodes before that, they suggest that Nabi Isa a.s. is possibly an alien hybrid (Na'uzubillah!) . Ni sbb Mariam mengandung tanpa hubungan sexual dgn lelaki - so possibly alien dah buat artificial insemination ke atas Mariam lalu melahirkan Nabi Isa.

Benda2 mcm ni, kita kena jaga. Aku sure ada some people dah termakan dgn 'facts' drp show ini.

But for me, the fact yg dibentangkan sgt weak dan kurang credibility. Sure, the people in that show ada title P.H.D... tapi most of them are not really credible utk memberikan fakta mengenai sejarah, etc. Dan most of the people in that show pun, majoritinya adalah author dan publisher buku teori UFO / Alien.

But, at least ada jugak la some educational value dlm show ni. Thru this show aku found out pasal Pumapunku ruins (interesting to read!), Dwarka myth, and few more obscure ancient civilization.

My third son, Musa Hamzah was born on July 15th 2011 @ Serdang Hospital. Welcome to the world, my son.

This Is Me

Yesterday I received a call from none other than Serena C from MixFM! She called to inform me that I am among the list of possible winner for MixFM's "This Is Me" contest. I submitted three photos for the contest and this one was chosen.



She did a brief interview and asked me on how I want to splurge the RM2000 shopping spree IF I am selected as the weekly winner. So I have to choose between my music interest and miniature models.

The interview was aired today, around 10 - 10:30pm :).

MixFM will announce the winner on Friday (tomorrow).

Monty's Caravan

Assembly of this kit was halted in 2008/9 because of missing instruction. I did, however, got this far...

Sink mold at the back of the figures. Dreadful. A little epoxy putty should fix this.

Diorama base painted. I use various tone of red brown for the pavement. I believe pavement in Britain should have dark gray tone but I want to add some 'colour' to the diorama.

I apply flat black on the vehicles as base coat.

Apply the Dark Green.

Add some colours to the interior of the Retriever.

Composition test.

Everything's painted and waiting for decal job and light weathering.

I use Tamiya's Diorama Texture paint - Soil Effect for the rubbles.

Luckily the decals still in good condition - except that it's a bit on the thicker side. Although the kit is a very old one, the decals didn't disintegrate when I dip them in the water. Gunze's Mr. Mark Setter was used make sure the decals stuck in it's place and Mr Mark Softener used to coax the decal to conform to the surface.

The figures - I use tire black as base coat and using drybrush technique, I just highlight the clothes on the figures.

SMM 2010/2011

Scale Models Malaysia (SMM) is a premier event for local modellers. It is an event organized by Selangor and Federal Territory Plastic Model Society (SFTPMS) and supported by local hobby stores. This year's event was held at Hobby HQ, Kuala Lumpur.

This year's turn up was great! Only one entry shy of 100 entries. Aircraft genre dominates the list of entries. Some photos of the event...

My entries managed to win a Bronze medal in Aircraft genre and Gold medal in Sci-fi genre.
